Gulacha Ganpati is a 1953 Marathi drama featuring P.L. Deshpande, Vinay Kale, Lele Mama, Vasant Shinde, Chitra and Angre. A man who is in love with a woman spends most of his time daydreaming and fantasising about her. He re-creates popular romance fictions in his mind. When he is hired by a stage troupe to play a working class hero, circumstances force him to become a hero in real life too, and then a political leader.
