Privacy
Effective 11 September 2026
MyOnDemandMovies has no accounts and no logins. You never give us a name, an email address or a password to use the site, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone. This page explains the little the site does keep, where it is kept and why.
Preferences stored in your browser
Your choices stay on your device. They are never sent to an account because there is none.
- Country. One cookie holds the two-letter country code you picked, so the server can show the right catalogue on the first paint. It lasts one year and carries nothing else. On your first visit, before you have picked one, the country is guessed from the network your request came from, as reported by our host; you can change it any time and the cookie then holds your choice.
- Your services, hidden genres and layout. The streaming services you selected, any genres you hid and your trending-strip layout live in your browser’s local storage.
- Where you were. While a tab is open, the site remembers your scroll position and filters on a listing so the Back button returns you to the same spot. That is cleared when the tab closes.
Clearing site data for MyOnDemandMovies in your browser removes all of it. Nothing here is used to identify you or to follow you to other sites.
Usage statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and countries are popular. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. Vercel derives a short-lived visitor hash from the request and discards it within a day; we only ever see aggregate numbers. See Vercel’s analytics privacy policy for the details.
Hosting and server logs
The site runs on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the IP address and request details of every visit to deliver pages and to block abuse, and keeps short-lived request logs for that purpose. We do not build profiles from those logs. Our own database holds cached movie and availability data keyed by country and service, plus a log of the requests we make to our data provider and the answers it sends back, which we delete after 32 days, and a log of the requests we make to YouTube looking for trailers, which we keep; there is no per-visitor table in either.
Feedback you send us
The feedback button files your message as an issue in our public GitHub project so the people building the site can act on it. Along with your message it includes the page you were on, your country, selected services and hidden genres, your browser’s user-agent string, window size, colour scheme and sort setting. Those help us reproduce what you saw. The contact field is optional; anything you type there is posted with the issue, so leave it blank or use an address you are happy to have on a public page. Your IP address is checked briefly to limit bursts of submissions and is not stored with the message.
Images and third parties
Movie data and posters come from the Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night and, for The Criterion Channel, from Criterion’s own public film list, which we fetch once a day. Our servers fetch them; your browser talks only to MyOnDemandMovies, so the data provider does not see your visit. Apart from trailers, no other third-party scripts, fonts or trackers load on the site.
Trailers
Movie pages may offer a trailer, and a film with several official videos also gets a Trailers & Extras page. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play — the cover image on every video is fetched by our servers and served from MyOnDemandMovies, so your browser does not contact YouTube just by opening the page. When you do, your browser loads YouTube’s player from youtube-nocookie.com, which may set its own cookies or storage under Google’s privacy policy. We find trailers on our servers using the YouTube Data API, reading the official studio and streaming-service channels, and we store the videos’ public details — the YouTube video id, title, channel and publish date — so we can match them to movies. None of that is about you.
Links to streaming services and affiliate links
Every “watch on” link takes you to the streaming service itself, which has its own privacy policy from the moment you arrive. As an Amazon Associate, MyOnDemandMovies earns from qualifying purchases. Links to other services are or may become affiliate links too: if you sign up or buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never change which services or prices we show, and we do not record which links you click.
Installing the site as an app
If you install MyOnDemandMovies on your phone or desktop, a service worker caches recently viewed pages, posters and the video cover images on Trailers & Extras pages on your device so they open offline. Those cover images are served by us, not by YouTube. That cache stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear site data.
Children
The site is a catalogue, not a service for children, and it collects no personal information from anyone of any age.
Changes and questions
If the site starts keeping anything new, this page will say so and the date at the top will change. Questions go through the feedback button or the About page.
